Reporting and analytics
From ThirdPresence Wiki
ThirdPresence uses Piwik (http://piwik.org/) as the base for statistics and analytics platform. Piwik provides detailed reports on usage trends and data of how content has been consumed. The user interface is powerful and provides opportunities for you to do customization on the user interface level to ensure that all the relevant data for you is available in a single glance.
Logging in to the statistics server
You can access the ThirdPresence statistics via URL http://stats.thirdpresence.com/. Enter your account's username and password to continue. The account credentials were sent to you when you originally signed up to ThirdPresence. The service will automatically forward your web browser to statistics dashboard once you have entered the correct credentials.
In case you have forgot your password or there are any problems logging in, please contact us either at our support web page at http://support.thirdpresence.com/ or by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can find all the relevant statistics from the main dashboard view where you are forwarded after the login:
- Total minutes breakdown for the chosen time period per video ("Minutes" widget)
- Total amount of launched videos per day for the chosen time period ("Last visits" widget)
- Video launches per hour breakdown for the chosen time period ("Visits by server time" widget)
- The referral sites through which the videos have been accessed ("List of external websites" widget)
- Breakdown of handsets ("Browsers by family" widget)
- Breakdown of handset operating systems ("Operating systems" widget)
- Geographical breakdown of the users ("Visitor countries" widget)
The time period length and the time period can be changed between day, week, month or year by clicking the area next to the ThirdPresence logo. By default the previous day's statistics are covered.
The dashboard should provide you all the key performance indicators. If you want to do a further drilldown to the statistics, you can find them under "Visitors" and "Actions" tabs.
Support for other reporting systems
Our statistics server is the main channel for managing the usage data. We can add support to other analytics systems (e.g. Google Analytics) with custom modules on the back-end side. The main integration methods are matching HTTP requests directed to the platform or batch uploads of statistics e.g. in CSV format.
Please contact us in case you have specific needs regarding the reporting.
Support via API
We are exploring the possibility to provide the fetching of aggregated statistics via our API. This would provide an easy way to directly deliver up-to-date data for our partners and customers who have already integrated uploading and publishing of video files to their systems using ThirdPresence API. Please note that we don't provide direct access to Piwik's API for information security and performance reasons. This page was last modified on 4 November 2010, at 08:21.
